Repeat prescriptions are computerised They are only given on presentation of a repeat prescription slip issued by the doctor. You may be asked to make an appointment for a treatment review if they feel you need one. (See prescription review clinic below.)

You may hand in your slip at reception or post it with a SAE to the Medical Centre. Prescriptions are signed daily.

In Taff’s Well requests received before 10.30am Monday - Friday will be available for collection at lunchtime the following day. Requests received after this time will be available after 48 hours.

At Castle View prescriptions are ready the following morning.

PRESCRIPTION REVIEW CLINIC
All patients having repeat prescriptions must be reviewed regularly. This includes prescriptions initiated by the hospital and new patients who have been prescribed repeat drugs by a previous GP. It is important to know that the medication is effective, tolerated and has no side effects.

When your prescription slip asks you to make an appointment for prescription review please tell the receptionist the reason for the appointment. You may have to have a blood test a few days before your appointment.
